Our Varieties

Chislett Summer Navel

• Genuine lateness - excellent late eating quality, firm strong rind, late holding on the tree with negligible granulation. (Granulation trials of late navels held in Waikerie 1995-1997 showed November granulation at 0.4% for Chislett compared with 3.1% for Rhode and 6.4% for Lane Late).
• High vigour - higher yields at an early tree age and better recovery after late picking giving less alternate bearing. This contributes also to a larger fruit size.
• Smooth skin texture - results in the best appearance of any late navel late in season.
• Cropping inside the tree - produces fruit with less blemish.
• Higher returns to growers - premium returns achieved through marketing under Chis-Elite brand.
• Only Private late navel in Auscitrus virus indexing and multiplication program.
• Albedo breakdown suseptability is approximately 50% of Lane Late.

"In comparison to Barnfield, Chislett has better tree shape and general health. So far they carry a better crop of rounder shaped fruit with a better skin texture and internal quality".
