M7 Early Navel
“World’s Earliest Navel”
• Early maturing - some three to four weeks earlier than 'Navelina 7.5'
• Early April harvest is possible with gas colouring possibly required until mid April in some seasons.
• Early harvest is possible before frost risk.
• Earlier internal maturity - Brix/Acid ratio 8.4 versus 7.0 for 'Navelina 7.5' on 5th April 2005.
• Much more rounded shape - preferred by retailers.
• Higher Brix giving better eating quality
• Fruit remains firmer due to a stronger albedo layer under the rind giving an extended harvest period and better handling and shelf life.
Orders are now being taken for Spring 2012 planting by Chislett Nurseries.
